An exciting new exhibition starts this Friday at Art Plus Frames in Crediton, Devon from 20th June – 15th August. I’ll be exhibiting a selection of my paintings alongside the sculptor Brendon Murless. There will be a private view this Friday 20th June at 6 pm.
I love this time of year, particularly the beautiful summer landscapes that surround me. The greens are so vibrant and Devon really comes to life. I thought I’d update you with some news as April seemed to pass me by without a newsletter!
I recently delivered a couple more large paintings to The Wey Gallery in Godalming. I was so excited that the first two I sent them sold. It was lovely to personally deliver them and see the gallery and all its wonderful art works.
The Blundell’s Spring Charity Art Fair was a great success with lots of sunshine and visitors. Nearly £4000 made for the charities Hospiscare, CHAT and ReStory Foundation. “Light Reflected” found its way to a new home.

Right now I’m working on some intensely green canal paintings and have another project in mind. A couple more exhibitions are coming up over the summer which I’ll update you on in my next newsletter.

Spring is here at last! I missed February’s newsletter so just writing to update you on news and new paintings. Firstly I was very pleased this month to make the “Extended Long List” of the Jackson’s Art Prize with these two paintings. There were 12,964 entries from 129 countries. The entries were narrowed down to an Extended Longlist of 3,169 entries.
Excited to announce that the Blundell’s Art Fair is back this year! Friday 2nd May, 8.30 to 5 pm and Saturday 3rd May 8.30 to 3 pm. Don’t miss it at Blundell’s House at Blundell’s School in Tiverton. There’s a great selection of artists with a mix of contemporary and traditional paintings and printmaking, alongside jewellery, ceramics, photographaphy and designer furniture. So much to see!

Christmas is almost upon us. Just a few weeks left of 2024. It’s been a busy year with new galleries, exhibitions and workshops. Looking forward to 2025 and developing my painting. It’s always exciting going out into the landscape, gathering inspiration and starting new pieces. The landscape around us has become more important and precious. I find myself searching for wild places on Dartmoor or Exmoor, on the coast and in woodland areas. I love watching the changing seasons and how it effects the landscape.

We are well into Autumn now with the beautiful rich warm colours taking over the landscape. I’ve been out on the canal sketching and taking in the sounds and scenery. I’m at the moment working on some large canvases to reflect this time of year and particularly looking at reflections.
Exciting news this month my work is featured in Artists and Illustrators magazine and is also on the front cover!

Thanks to all those who visited me at The White Rooms in Crediton for Devon Open Studios this year. What a great year. So many visitors and lots of sales. It was great to be part of a group of talented artists.

Autumn is just round the corner and with it comes Devon Open Studios. This year I am exhibiting at The White Rooms in Crediton with a group of 14 other artists. I love being part of this creative group. Do come and visit. There is so much to see including painters, ceramicists, potters, wood makers, basket weavers, printers and more. Look forward to seeing you there between the 7th – 22nd September.
